A newly promoted chief detective who takes over a rape-murder case. She believes the suspect the police just caught did not work alone and decides to uncover the truth behind a series of suicide and missing cases. Jointed by a botanist, she travels deep inside a forest, where all those incidents occurred...

In Kuala Lumpur, a beaten up homeless man named Hsiao-kang is saved by a group of migrant workers. Rawang, one of the workers, let him sleep in his mosquito net. Chyi, a restaurant waitress having been taking care of a man in coma, meets Hsiao-kang and falls in lust with him. The lady who owns the restaurant discovers Hsiao-kang looks very much like his son in coma and starts approaching him...

 

Written and directed by TSAI Ming-liang.
