This week in China, two kids' movies, one very popular and one less popular, are released in theaters.

 

Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, the popular one, tells two arch enemies joining force to save their shared homeland against the alien tiger.

 

Kai Jia Wu Shi Zhi Di Huang Xia, the less popular one, is about a young man being assigned to prepare for the battle against the evil force.

This week, Chow Yun-Fat starred historical drama Confucius is released in China. This is the first colored biopic of the great Chinese thinker.

 

Another film released in China is called Fa Dian Zhi Mi Zhi Hai Di Tao Fa, which literally means "Secret of the Corpus Juris: Finding the Law under the Sea". It is in fact a law educational film targeting at children.

 

In Hong Kong, local film Bad Blood hits the theaters. The thriller tells close relatives of an executed crime boss are murdered one by one, and the survivors have no idea who is the mastermind.

Zhang Yimou remakes Coen brother's  Blood Simple to A Simple Noodle Story, about a waiter at a Silk Road noodle shop has an affair with the shop owner's wife, and both of them are hunted by a killer hired by the greedy and abusive shop owner.

 

The Storm Warriors, directed by Thailand born Pang brothers, is the second live action movie adaptation of Ma Wing-Shing's comic series Wind, Cloud. This time, two warriors, Wind and Cloud are facing the same enemy, Lord Godless who is invading from the east.
