Actress Jiang Wenli tells her childhood story in her directorial debut Lan, which tells a little girl, whose parents are political prisoners, growing up with her grandfather, during the notorious Cultural Revolution in China.

Macau 1949 tells how the crew of a Nationalist naval ship is persuaded to join the communist force at the end of the Chinese Civil War.
