In early 1960s, a young boy haunted by the same nightmare of being abandoned by his mother in the city of Shanghai, is sent to Xilingol of China's Inner Mongolia, to be adapted by a Mongol mother, who heels the boy's wound with great love. 30 years later, the boy who has become an experienced Mongol herdsman travels back to Shanghai to search for his birth parents...

 

Inspired by the true event that during the nationwide famine (1958 - 1961), about 3000 orphans discovered in Shanghai were relocated to Inner Mongolia for adaption.
