The first trailer of Jiang Wen's long-awaited
The Sun Also Rises
was finally revealed earlier today at a press conference in Beijing.
This film was written and directed by Jiang Wen (Devils
on the Doorstep,
In the Heat of the Sun),
based on short story "Velvet" by women writer Ye Mi. The writing
team also include Shu Ping and Guo Shi Xing. The cast include Jiang
Wen, Anthony Wong, Jaycee Chan,
Zhou Yun,
Joan Chen and Kong Wei.
The film tells four mini-stories:

Once a hopeful contender of this
year's Cannes Film Festival,
The Sun Also Rises
missed the deadline for submission because the celluloid of some
"beautiful" shots were ruined during the post-production. Made by
Beijing-based Bu Yi Le Hu Films, its global rights have been picked
up by Hong Kong's Emperor Motion Pictures.
